How to Disassemble and Reassemble the Romanian M69 Trainer's Bolt
Disassembly Instructions
1) Note the direction the safety lever is installed on the bolt
(as shown in figure 1). It is actually possible to install it
backwards.
2) The key to disassembling the bolt is to compress thestriker
spring in the direction shown in figure 2.
Note: To the left of the arrow is the spring retainer with a
detent for you to place a punches tip and move it in the
direction of the arrow.
Warning: The striker spring is a very strong spring and requires
a lot of pressure to compress and hold compressed. Be cautious
when attempting this procedure because the spring and other
parts can shoot out of the bolt at high velocity.
3) Decock the bolt and let the striker spring expand.
Note: this disassembly can only be accomplished if thebolt body
is held in a vise or flat on a surface with a c-clamp. Figure 4
shows how the bolt should be positioned in the vise to gain
access to the striker spring andretainer.
4) I cheat and use a jeweler's flat blade screwdriver to insert
the tip between the top coils of the striker springand then
compress it. Then while holding the striker spring, I use my
other hand to take a punch and move the spring retainer towards
the compressed spring. I find this method easier because you
have less chance of loosing grip on the retainer because the
striker springis fairly difficult to compress.
5) While keeping the striker spring compressed, move the safety
lever to the right or left and pull out until it comes free of
the bolt.
6) Be very careful to release pressure on the striker spring
slowly or it will fly out and across the room.
7) Remove the striker and striker spring.
8) Separate the striker and striker spring.
9) Remove the bolt handle and spring follower.
10) Separate the spring follower from the bolt handle(as shown
in figure 10).
11) Figure 11 shows the punch pointing out the firing pin.
Note: I don't recommend attempting to remove the firing pin or
the extractor. Both can easily be cleaned while still attached
to the bolt.

retaining pin.

Reassembly Instructions
15) Install the spring follower in the bolt handle (as shown in
figure 15).
16) Place the bolt body in the vise with the flat part facing
upwards. Insert the bolt handle into the bolt body.
17) Make sure the spring follower is in the furthest most
position (as shown in figure 17).
18) Slide the striker spring onto the striker.
19) Make sure you install the striker and striker springwith the
flat piston shaped end inside the bolt.
20) Figure 20 shows the properly installed striker andstriker
spring.
21) Place the spring retainer on the striker with the small
detent arm placed in the follower's channel .
22) Figure 22 shows the punch pointing to the side of thespring
retainer with the ridge/lug that fits into the channel/guide in
the safety.
23) Figure 23 shows the punch pointing to the
safety'schannel/guide that the spring retainer's ridge/lug fits
into.
24) After placing the spring retainer back into the rear of the
bolt, the striker spring must be compressed and thespring
retainer pushed inside the bolt to allow thesafety to be
attached.
25) Figure 25 shows the two guides/keys that are on thesafety.
They must be lined up with the slots in the rear of the bolt
assembly for the safety to be reinstalled.
26) Make sure the safety lever is placed in the correct
direction. With the bolt situated as shown in figure 26, the
safety lever should point down.
Align the safety's guides/keys in the slots in the rear of the
bolt.
While keeping the spring retainer and striker springcompressed,
push in on the safety and turn to the right or left.
Slowly release pressure on the striker spring, while still
holding onto the safety to catch the striker spring andretainer
if the safety is not secure.
If you aligned the guides/keys correctly the bolt is assembled.
If not, repeat steps 21 to 26.
